CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A Conway man and woman have been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting arrest, according to the Conway Police Department.

Lt. Selena Small says an officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on Tuesday, August 11 in the area of Woodward and Ridge Street in the city limits of Conway.

During the traffic stop, the driver, identified as 33-year-old Mikall Pyatt, fled the scene on foot; another subject at that location, identified as 34-year-old Anya Jackson, removed a bag containing a green leafy substance from the scene and fled into a residence.

A search warrant was conducted at Pyatt’s residence, where officers found over 30 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, an assault rifle and two handguns, according to the release from the CPD.

Officers arrested Jackson at the scene and also seized $2,071.

Warrants were later obtained for Pyatt’s arrest; on Monday, August 17, Conway Police arrested Pyatt.
