MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) –Members of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department along with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, will host the annual “Fill the Boot” to help the lives of people fighting muscle disease in the Myrtle Beach area.

Muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other related life-threatening diseases take away people’s ability to walk, move, smile, talk and even breathe. According to a Muscular Dystrophy health article, there is no cure for this disease.

Members of the Fire Department will be in front of the Walmart on Seaboard Street from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m., and in front of the Coastal Grand mall entrances from 12 p.m.– 5 p.m. for this year’s drive August 20-22.
