Report: Shoplifting suspect throws sandals, punches woman after being caught

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A woman who was allegedly caught shoplifting several pairs of sandals threw them out of her purse and then punched the woman who confronted her about the theft, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.
Police responded to Coastal Grand Mall Friday for an assault complaint involving a female who punched another female at Sydney Surf Shop.
The victim told police she saw a black female between the ages of 25-30-years-old carrying a red purse and had a purple streak in her hair.
The victim also said the suspect took a few pairs of brown rainbow sandals. The victim then confronted the suspect saying that she would like her sandals back. The suspect took one pair out of her purse and placed them on the table. The victim knew she had more so she told the suspect that she wanted all of them.
The suspect then starting yelling at the victim after she threw a total of four pairs of sandals out of her purse, grabbed the victim by the hair, and started punching her.
The victim was trying to get free when the suspect punched her in the nose and she blacked out. The victim said she only remembers the beginning and end of the fight and denied EMS when officers were on the scene, according to Myrtle Beach Police.
Myrtle Beach Police reports said there was a pool of blood on the floor from the victim and a description of the suspect was not provided.
