Report: Police respond to sexual exposure complaint Sunday

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police responded Sunday night to the Sea Banks Hotel for a disturbance call involving a man who exposed himself shortly after offering a teenage girl money.

According to a police report, when officers arrived on scene, the victim said the offender was walking around the hotel with a laundry basket full of clothes and he pulled out a $20.00 bill, then asked the victim's 15-year-old daughter if she wanted the money.

The victim's daughter took the money from his hand and the offender told her what room number he was in, the daughter then ran inside with the money and told the victim what happened.

The victim went outside to confront the offender and when she opened the door of her room she saw him standing outside of the sidewalk near the parking area with the front of his pants pulled partially down and he was masturbating. The victim said she began yelling at the offender and he turned around leaving his laundry basket and walked away, according to police.

The victim stated that the offender appeared to be intoxicated or on drugs. Management was contacted, and maintenance told the victim that the man lived in the hotel and suffers from mental issues.

Police contacted the offender and asked him if he was missing laundry, he said he was missing them and wondered where he had left them. Police asked the offender if he talked to any females while he was downstairs, he said that he didn't remember anything. The officer then asked if he was sure that he didn't give the victim's daughter a $20.00 bill, he eventually said he may have given it to her because it was bad. The officer asked him why it was bad, he said he took it down to use on his laundry and the laundry room was locked.
