CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Two residents grabbed firearms and shot at a man in a mask on Tuesday in Conway after he fired a shotgun into their home, according to a police report.

Police responded to a home on Robin Road in Conway at about 10:10 p.m., where one victim told police he was laying on his couch in the living room when he heard a gunshot, the report states. He looked up and saw a man dressed all in black, wearing a black mask, holding a shotgun.

The victim grabbed his firearm and returned fire, the report states. Another victim, who was in the bathroom and heard the gunshots, grabbed the first victim’s handgun and also shot at the suspect.

The suspect dropped his shotgun and ran out onto the street. According to the report, the first victim followed the suspect onto the roadway and shot at him several more times.

As police were investigating this incident, they learned that a man was being treated at a nearby hospital for gunshot wounds. At about 2:49 a.m., police responded to the hospital in reference to reports of disorderly subjects.

Police learned that the man who had been shot was trying to leave the hospital, and the second resident from Robin Road showed up with several other people. The resident then took a swing at the man and missed. Security then showed up, and the resident left the scene.
