FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A Florence man was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop on outstanding warrants of third degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and unlawful conduct toward a child, according to the Florence Police Department.

David Davodjoe Brown Jr., age 28, of Rose Street, is charged with unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person, third degree criminal sexual conduct with minor-victim less than 16 subject older than 14, driving under suspension-license not suspended for DUI (second offense), suspended vehicle tag and uninsured motor vehicle violation.

Lt. Mike Brandt says Brown’s third degree criminal sexual conduct charge stems from allegations that Brown had sexual conduct with a 7-year-old in 2009.

The unlawful conduct charge against Brown stems from allegations of physical abuse of a 6-year-old in 2014, according to Lt. Brandt.

Due to the serious nature of these charges, Lt. Brandt says information is limited to protect the victims’ identities.
