National Cemetery hosting World War II 70th Anniversary Commemorative event

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) -   A public wreath ceremony will honor members of the greatest generation interred in Florence National Cemetery as part of the spirit of '45 World War II 70th Anniversary Commemorative Weekend.

The event will take place Sunday, August 16 at the Florence National Cemetery rostrum historic site at 9 a.m.

The weekend sponsored by military order of purple hearts in coordination with the "Keep the Spirit of 45 Alive", is an initiative that recognizes the achievements of men and woman who endured the great depression fought and won World War II.

Parking will be available at the South Carolina special needs and disability department.

Wreaths will be laid to honor the members.
