CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – On July 31, officers with the Conway Police Department responded to reports of shoplifting at the Walmart located at 2709 Church Street on July 29 and July 31.

On both dates, a store employee found the fire exit door alarm activated in a back room of the business, according to a Conway Police report. After further investigation, the employee discovered an unsecured door with a shopping cart just outside of the door.

Surveillance footage shows that the unknown suspect is a black male and was dressed as a Walmart employee. The suspect grabbed a shopping cart and plastic tote, then walked to the electronics department, placing several items in the cart, the report states. He then exits the business through the fire exit door, which caused the activation of the alarm. Video shows the suspect placing the items inside of a four-door silver or gold full-size vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Anyone with any information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Conway Police Department at 843-248-1790.
