Report: Man robbed at gunpoint in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man reported to police that he was robbed at gunpoint on 16th Avenue North by three men early Monday morning.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at about 2 a.m. According to the police report, the victim said he got out of the car and started walking after an argument with his brother.

While walking near 16th Ave. North and Withers Drive, the victim was approached by three men who asked him if he had marijuana, according to the report. The victim said he did not have any, and kept walking.

The men followed the victim, and a man wearing a black bandana with dreadlocks pointed a handgun at the victim, and demanded he hand over his wallet and phone. The victim handed over his personal items. One of the men took money out of the wallet, and threw it back at him. The suspects then fled the scene.

The first offender is described in the police report as a black male, between 6’1” and 6’2” tall, with a skinny build and bumps on his face. He had a black bandana around his neck and dreadlocks, and carried a black and silver handgun.

The second offender was described by the victim as a black male, about 230 to 270 pounds in weight, with black dreadlocked hair, wearing a white tank top and a blue bandana around his neck.

The third offender was described as a black male with a medium build wearing a white tank top.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, according to the police report.
