Florence man dead after possible drowning

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A Florence man was found dead Monday night after a possible drowning occurred over the weekend.

The victim was found in the pool of a residence on Lancelot Drive in Florence approximately 7:45 p.m. Monday night.

According to Florence County Coroner's office, the victim was doing yard work for the homeowner Sunday afternoon.

The victim is identified as 51-year-old James Skinner of Florence.

Initial evidence revealed no signs of trauma, however an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death, according to Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken.

According to the coroner, it is believed the decedent died Sunday afternoon.

The incident is under investigation by the Florence County Coroner's Office and Florence Police Department.
