Police release person of interest photo involving Bennettsville shooting

MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - One is dead following a shooting that took place on Clarkstreet in Bennettsville around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, according to Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown.

The shooting took place outside a residence on Clark Street, Brown says.

An 18-year-old black male and his friend were walking on Clark Street when a dark vehicle drove by firing shots at both victims. The 18-year-old was struck by a bullet and died on the scene, according to Lt. Larry Turner with the Bennettsville Police Department.

Police are searching for a person of interest identified in the photo attached as Anthony Ronald Littles.

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

According to the coroner, an autopsy will take place Sunday morning at The Medical University of South Carolina.
