Tractor driver killed in collision in Georgetown County

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A tractor driver was killed Thursday morning in Georgetown County in a collision on U.S. 521 Bypass, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at about 10:25 a.m. on U.S. 521 Bypass near SC 41 in Georgetown County, said Lance Corporal Hannah Wimberly. The tractor was traveling north on US 521 when it was struck in the rear by a Grand Marquis driven by an Andrews man.

Eric Tisdale, 40, from Andrews, died from multiple injuries received when the tractor he was driving was struck, according to the Georgetown County Coroner's Office.

The collision is still pending a MAIT investigation.
