HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Myrtle Beach man remains jailed after over 200 digital files containing sexually explicit images and video of minor children involved in sexual performances was located on his USB drive, according to a Horry County Police report.

Daniel James Crutchfield, age 25, is charged with second degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

A criminal complaint was filed in Federal Court on July 24th against Crutchfield, regarding 18 U.S.C. 2252A, violating certain activities relating to material constituting or containing child pornography, according to the U.S. District Court complaint.

Horry County Police and agents with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement arrested Crutchfield on July 1, after completing a search warrant at his residence. Lawful searches of IP addresses and internet activity of Crutchfield’s, where he communicated with others and provided access to about 300 videos and photographs of a minor engaged in sexual activity or appearing in a state of sexually explicit nudity, was the probable cause for their warrant, the reports states.

The USB drive, a PlayStation and an i-Pad were located during the search and ICE investigators interviewed Crutchfield. Crutchfield gave written consent for the USB drive, containing over 200 sexually explicit images and video of minor children, to be previewed.

Probable cause was found and an arrest warrant was issued for Crutchfield.

Crutchfield is at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
