HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Power went out for about 2,800 Horry Electric Cooperative customers  Tuesday afternoon in the northern part of the county.

“We have lost transmission from Santee Cooper at the Green Sea, Midway and Cedar Creek substations,” Horry Electric representatives stated in a Facebook post at 1:34 p.m. “No word on the cause at this time. We will keep you updated when possible. Our crews, as well as Santee Cooper crews have been dispatched.”

Horry  Electric says power has been restored. Horry Electric said on facebook "A tree dropped on transmission by a logger was the cause of the outage. We are glad it was not a more serious repair issue!"
