Fry, Servant in runoff election Tuesday for SC House District 106 seat

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Russell Fry and Tyler Servant will advance to a primary runoff election Tuesday after a special primary election was held in July for the South Carolina House of Representatives District 106 seat. The seat is now vacant after Nelson Hardwick resigned back in May of this year following an investigation into an inappropriate conduct complaint filed against him.

Russell Fry received 1,152 votes, 44.88 percent of the 2,580 cast for the seat, according to the unofficial election results posted to HorryCounty.org. Tyler Servant received 851 votes, 33.15 percent of the vote.

Voters had a chance to meet and greet the candidates at a debate at South Strand Recreation Center. You can view the story here.

The other two Republican candidates who ran for the seat were, Sanford Cox Graves, who received 190 votes and Roy W Sprinkle, who received 374 votes, according to election information from SCVotes.org. The general special election will take place on September 15.
