DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – It is almost back to school time and Darlington County School District has announced their 2015-2016 registration dates.

The DCSD says parents will be able to complete much of the registration online from personal computers this year. Parents must still visit the schools during the on-site registration times to complete the registration process, to pick up schedules and to show proof of residency and vaccination forms, according to a news release from the DCSD.

Parents can visit the district’s website at www.darlington.k12.sc.us and click on the REGISTRATION link on the homepage to go to the Parent Registration Resource page. Here they will find videos and documents to assist with the online process and can also call the online registration hotline at (843)-398-2236 for assistance, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., until July 30.

Parents need to complete the online/advanced registration portion by 8:00 a.m. on the day before they are scheduled to arrive for on-site registration. All on-site registration sessions will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the home school.

To register for any school, parents/guardians should bring acceptable proof of residency which includes utility bills (water, electric, gas or utility), landline telephone bills or tax notices. Cellphone bills, cable bills or driver’s licenses CANNOT be used for proof of residency, states the release.

This year, every seventh grader must show proof he or she received the TDAP vaccination to be allowed to register. The TDAP vaccine is required in South Carolina for all seventh graders and covers Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis, according to the release.
