CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A former Myrtle Beach Seahawks football player is still incarcerated after being booked on July 14 for drug possession, armed robbery and failure to appear charges.

Daquarius Raquan Wilson, age 21, of Myrtle Beach, was pulled over by Conway police on Millpond Rd. around 1:15 a.m. on July 14 after an officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and noticed the license tag light was out, according to the Conway Police Department report.

After the officer discovered Horry County had three warrants out for Wilson’s arrest, he was transported to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. According to the police report, a strong odor of marijuana was still coming from Wilson, so a body search was performed and a bag of marijuana weighing 3.1 grams was found in his rectum.

Wilson, who was once featured on WMBF as an athlete of the week in 2011, had intentions of going to school at North Carolina Central in 2012.
