PGA Golfer and Fairmont native ready for more

FAIRMONT, N.C. (WMBF) - Fairmont native and PGA Tour golfer William McGirt took a break from the game this week and spent it in his native Fairmont, and spent his time passing on his tips of the game to others. 

McGirt turned pro in 2004 after spending his college days playing at Wofford. This year he is ranked 78th in the FedEx Cup Rankings, and remains optimistic about the upcoming playoffs that are around the corner.

"(We) got the playoffs coming up, and I got a couple courses coming that I really like, so hopefuilly we can find a way to play well and finish the season off strong," said McGirt.

The playoffs begin with The Barclays at Plainfield Country Club in Edison, New Jersey from August 27-30.
