Crews respond to kitchen fire at Ocean Dunes in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Emergency crews responded to a kitchen fire on the tenth floor of the Ocean Dunes Tower 2 in Myrtle Beach Friday night.

About 10 fire trucks, five ambulances and other emergency personnel responded to Ocean Dunes, located at Ocean Boulevard and 75th Avenue North at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, according to WMBF News Meteorologist Andy Stein, who spoke with a firefighter at the scene.

There was moderate damage to one room and smoke damaged two to three other rooms, according to Battalion Chief Ian Maxwell. The occupants of the rooms were located. There were no injuries and the fire was under control within about 20 minutes . Crews were cleaning up as of 10:25 p.m.
