(WMBF) - It's Friday once again and the heat is not only outside, but also in the kitchen as Department of Health and Environmental Control inspectors paid visits to area restaurants.
Here's how some of them did:
BM Chinese Restaurant in Andrews got an 83 in their inspection. Points were taken off because food was stored uncovered in the walk in, the lid on the rice cooker was broken, and a grocery bag was used for food storage. Also, the walls and ceiling had splatter marks, and the floors had grime build up.
In North Myrtle Beach, Bar-B-Que House did slightly better with a score of 88. Infractions included an employee removing cooked chicken from smoker with bare hands, and the dish machine was dirty where water collects.
Sobaya Japanese Bistro in Myrtle Beach got also got an 88 from DHEC. There was no employee health policy posted, and the sides of cooking equipment had grease build-up.
Both Burger Fi and Flamingo in Myrtle Beach got scores of 96 in the health inspections.
