ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – Two Lumberton men have been arrested and one suspect is still at large in connection with an armed robbery that occurred July 9 at Long Branch County Store in Lumberton, according to Major Anthony Thompson, Chief of Detectives for Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Raekwon Donta Lewis, age 18, Summer Ln. in Lumberton, and Pha’res Leviticus Inman, age 18, of Ward St. in Lumberton, are charged with robbery with dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. Both men have been placed in the Robeson County Detention Center and each are under a secured bond of $75,000.

According to a news release from RCSO, around 1:45 p.m. on July 9, Lewis, Inman and another young male walked into the store, covered their faces with masks while in the store, and stole an undisclosed amount of money while holding the owner’s wife at gunpoint. Upon fleeing the scene, one of the suspects fired a shot at a customer who was standing at the gas pumps with his 6-year-old daughter. The bullet struck the bed of the truck, leaving no one injured. After the customer moved his daughter to safety, he followed the suspects to Mud Alley Road where they ran into the woods.

The RCSO and Major Crimes Divisions, along with the Lumberton Police Department’s K-9 Unit, combed the area and apprehended Lewis and Inman in a wooded area behind Long Branch School.

The case is still under investigation by the RCSO Major Crimes Division. If you have any information regarding this robbery or the suspect at large, contact the RCSO immediately at (910)-671-3189.
