MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach man has been charged after police say he entered the hotel room and assaulted a woman early Thursday morning.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department said Terry Glenn Johnson entered a hotel room at the South Seas Resort just before 4 a.m. Thursday.

Johnson has been charged with first-degree burglary and assault and first-degree battery.

The victim reported that while she was sleeping, [Johnson] entered her motel room without permission.

The victim had left her door ajar for her roommate, according to the report.

While in the room, the male reportedly began touching the victim’s private parts above her clothing, without consent.  This woke the victim and caused the male intruder to flee the scene.

According to police, the victim was able to provide the officers with a clothing description of the male suspect and a short time later, Johnson was arrested without incident.
