MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Surfside Beach and Pawleys Island have made TripAdvisor’s list of the 29 "super affordable vacation rental destinations you need to visit," according to a news release from the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Both Surfside Beach and Pawleys Island offer families the same comforts and friendly atmosphere that they would expect to find at any other location in the Myrtle Beach area,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

The article highlighted Surfside Beach’s popular fishing pier among “two miles of pristine oceanfront” and called the vibe in Pawleys Island to be “laid-back, easygoing and carefree.”

Pawleys Island was settled by rice planters in the early 1700’s and is considered one of the oldest summer resorts on the East Coast, according to the Town of Pawleys Island website.

Surfside Beach is a seaside community that has earned its reputation as a family beach, according to Surfside Beach’s website.

“Their beautiful stretch of beaches and casual charm make them perfect places to visit along the Grand Strand,” Dean expressed.

TripAdvisor is a travel review website that offers an extensive variety of travel choices and planning features, as well as advice from millions of travelers, according to TripAdvisor’s website.
