All-Stars announced for CPL game in Florence

FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) - Five RedWolves have made the cut, as the Coastal Plains League has announced the rosters for its annual all-star game that will be hosted by the Florence RedWolves this year. The game will take place on Monday, July 13th at Sparrow Stadium on the campus of Francis Marion University.

Earning a spot both on the roster and in the starting lineup are first baseman Ben Holland, second baseman Chaz Pal and outfielder Chris Adams. Rounding out Florence's representatives are pitchers Tyler Keele and Luke Humphreys.

The game will also have a local flavor, especially behind the plate. Coastal Carolina star and Conway native G.K. Young will be the starting catcher for the East squad (representing the Petersburg Generals). The starting backstop for the West will be Francis Marion catcher J.D. Crowe (spending the summer with the Lexington Blowfish).

Six South Carolina Gamecocks also made it to the all-star game. You can view both rosters by clicking here.

All-Star weekend will be July 12-13 in Florence. On the 12th the RedWolves will host a Fan Fest along with the CPL Home Run Derby, followed by the game on the 13th.
