Several seafood stops served scores on this week's Restaurant Scorecard
(WMBF) - If you're holiday weekend is starting with a dinner out... you're in luck: we've checked in with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control to get a few of the most recent scores for restaurants in our area.
Bellacino's on Main Street in Conway scored an 88 - that's an A. The inspector noted pizza sauce and turkey weren't being kept at the right temperature. Some bulk food ideas weren't labeled, and some stored shelves had dust built up on them. They'll get a follow up visit within ten days.
Russell's Seafood in Murrells Inlet scored a 94 during a routine visit. It was also docked a couple of points for food storage temperatures. The inspector noted some fish wasn't being thawed properly.
Another seafood spot you may be thinking about: Seaman's Seafood Restaurant in Longs, scored an 88.     It lost points for items on the buffet line not being at the right temperature, but that was corrected during the inspection. One point was taken away due to a toxic substance - a home-use bug spray that's not labeled for use in a retail food establishment.
Food prep was an issue at Benny's Hibachi in Loris. A cutting board used to prep sushi with raw tuna was then used to slice a tempura seafood roll.  The board was wiped with a towel without any sanitizer. That restaurant got an 88.
