Paddington features in Hartsville summer movie series

HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) – The City of Hartsville’s Screen on the Green summer movie series continues with the showing of Paddington on Saturday, July 11, around 8:40 p.m. in Burry Park.

North Industrial Machine is sponsoring the free movie and moviegoers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to watch the film, according to a news release from the City of Hartsville.

The classic children’s book character Paddington Bear comes to life in this 2014 comedy film starring Ben Whisham as Paddington, Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville and Nicole Kidman.

Burry Park is located at 131 Cargill Way in Hartsville. In the event of rain, the showing will relocate to Byerly Park’s Coach T.B. Thomas Sports Center at 701 W. Washington St. in Hartsville.

Screen on the Green will continue on July 25 with the showing of Big Hero 6, being sponsored by the Children’s Group and on August 8 for Planes: Fire and Rescue, sponsored by the Hartsville Fire Department and Police Department.
