Man in critical condition after near-drowning in Lumberton

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – A man is in critical condition after nearly drowning in a pool at a home on Londonderry Drive in Lumberton, according to police.

At about 6:34 p.m. Wednesday, Police responded to a report of an accidental drowning. No one at the home at the time of the near drowning could swim, according to a news release from Lumberton Police.

Officers performed CPR on the 55-year-old near-drowning victim, who was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The man is from District Heights, Maryland, and is in Lumberton visiting his family, police state.
