Hazardous waste collection day for Georgetown County residents

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Georgetown County Department of Public Services is hosting a household hazardous waste collection day from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Murrells Inlet Convenience Center.

All Georgetown County residents are encouraged to bring used automotive oil, car batteries, rechargeable batteries, chemicals, antifreeze, pesticide, fertilizers, herbicides, and unwanted products labeled poison, warning, or caution, according to a news release from Georgetown County Dept. of Public Services.

Please do not bring the follow items: waste from businesses, containers larger than 5 gallons, explosives, ammunition, radioactive waste or compressed gas cylinders.

The Murrells Inlet Convenience Center is located in Murrells Inlet at 5455 Wesley Rd.
