Neighbors upset with another shooting at nearby bar

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Just more than three weeks after a shooting that left two hospitalized, the Fat Boiz Bar and Grill finds itself in a familiar predicament.

This time it happened just before five in the morning. Police say two men were shot, both were taken to the hospital.

Officers are now investigating a shooting at the bar for the fourth time. The folks nearby say they are sick of it.

“I've got a nine month old baby and I said this is the last time,” said Lindsey Smith, who lives a few houses down. “If they came on this road and something happened, I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't have a gun. I can't shoot back.”

Smith and her other neighbors say this is continuing to be a problem.  They say businesses have come and go from that building for years now, and none have created problems like this.

They claim many other shootings have gone unreported and fear some have been way too close for comfort.

“There's a little kid that lives in the end bedroom of that last house down there, right there at the bar,” She said. “God forbid they shot at that window and shot the ten year old boy that lives there.”

Now those neighbors have one demand; shut down the bar and move on.

We reached out to the owner of the bar several times today for a response but never heard back.

Following the last shooting, he was apologetic and said he was taking steps to improve security.

One step the bar was taking was adding security cameras. We are unsure if those new cameras caught any of this morning's shooting.

We also reached out to the longtime landlord of the building for her response today. She says she is still waiting to talk to the owner of the bar before saying something.

We have covered several shootings at this same bar, you can click on the link for previous shooting information.
