Independence Day holiday to bring closures to Grand Strand

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Some local businesses and agencies will be closing in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2015. The SCDMV is reminding everyone that the days before and after a holiday are often extremely busy and recommends customers choose an alternate time to visit their local DMV office or process their transactions online at www.scdmvonline.com.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College will not be holding classes from June 29, 2015 through July 3, 2015. HGTC will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 and reopen on Monday, July 6, 2015.

Coastal Carolina University will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2015.

Georgetown County government offices and facilities will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2015.
