MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – With the help of his fellow firefighters, and a well-timed banner plane fly-by, Chris Hager surprised his girlfriend with a unique proposal during a training session atop a high-rise building in Myrtle Beach.

“Firemedic Hager took a momentary pause in high-rise training, did it right, and got down on one knee to ask for Kristen's hand in marriage,” states a Facebook post made by Horry County Fire Rescue Tuesday.

Photos of the proposal show Hager down on one knee behind Kristen Mullane as she watches a plane fly by with a banner that read: “Kristen will you marry me.”

Mullane, who is also a firefighter/paramedic with HCFR, said yes while her family watched from the beach below.

“We wish these two the best,” the HCFR post states.
