MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Myrtle Beach cab driver who police arrested on Monday after he was found on the beach with an unconscious woman appeared for a preliminary hearing Wednesday on kidnapping, sexual assault and indecent exposure charges. The same driver was charged in May 2014 for sexually assaulting a teenager, but those charges were later dropped.

Two security guards saw 51-year-old Alqi Dhimo exposing himself at a public beach access on 77th Avenue North early Monday morning, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report. Dhimo had only a shirt on and no pants, the report states.

When police arrived at the location, they saw Dhimo on the beach with a young female victim with little clothing on, who appeared to be unconscious, the police report states. The scene was secured as the location of possible criminal sexual conduct, and detectives were called in. The incident remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, Dhimo appeared before a municipal court judge in a courtroom with his wife, the alleged victim and her mother. Dhimo cried during the hearing, saying, “I didn't do it, judge.”

Bond was set at $75,000 for the sexual assault charge and $5,000 for the indecent exposure charge. Bond was denied for the kidnapping charge, as bond for kidnapping cannot be set by a municipal court judge.

Dhimo's cab permit will be revoked if he is found guilty of all charges, but a condition of his bond would be that he must release his permit to police.

Dhimo was arrested in May 2014 for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman who got into his cab. Those charges were dropped in February 2015, according to court documents.
