Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Williamsburg County

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 52, about one mile from the Florence County line.

Tameka Singleton, age 36, of Eastover, SC was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Williamsburg County Coroner William Horton. 

A 2015 Kia was traveling south on US 52 near Paddy Road when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway at about 2 a.m., according to Corporal Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

No charges are expected to be filed, as the pedestrian was in the roadway when struck, Cpl. Collins said.
