MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Beach accesses at 43rd and 44th Avenues North will be temporarily closed for the day on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 as the City of Myrtle Beach's camera project continues, according to Lt. Joey Crosby of the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Over the next few weeks, residents and visitors should be prepared to see more temporary beach access closures.

Once the cameras are installed at the beach access points, the city will start Phase Three of the project by installing cameras on Kings Highway and secondary streets, according to Lt. Crosby.

Close to 825 cameras will be mounted throughout the city as part of the project and total operation costs will near $1.3 million, according to Mark Kruea, the spokesperson for the City of Myrtle Beach.

Project planners are trying to expedite the work to limit the inconvenience to the public.
