MULLINS, SC (WMBF) – A 62-year-old man was beaten by three teenagers in Mullins Sunday night; police say the teens randomly chose someone to assault as part of a “game” called “Hit Man.”

Mullins Police were called to the corner of Park street and Highway 76 at around 11 p.m. Sunday, there the victim was assaulted by two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old, according to Captain Joe Graham with the City of Mullins Police. The suspects also attempted to rob the victim.

The man who was assaulted suffered serious injuries, and is still in the hospital, as of Monday afternoon.

A police officer in the area saw the victim seconds after the assault happened, Captain Graham said. That officer, along with others, located the three juveniles that were involved.

All three teens have been charged with second-degree assault by mob and strong armed robbery. They were taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia on Monday. The two 16-year-olds will be charged as adults, Captain Graham said.

Captain Graham said that the assault involved a “game” called “Hit Man,” where the “players” randomly select someone and assault them.
