North Myrtle Beach offers free concerts

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF)  -  North Myrtle Beach will be offering free concerts in June.

The Carolina Soul Band will be performing June 18th from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. free of charge at the Horseshoe on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach. 

The Carolina Soul Band is a Motown and beach music band.

Concert-goers and Patrons are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs.

The Legacy and Sound Express will perform June 19th at the Sandhills Bank Amphitheater at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex free of charge.

Sound Express is a high energy variety show band, and the Legacy is a Motown band.

Combining the two bands together, delivers an enthusiastic performance.

According to Public Information Officer Patrick Dowling, the free concert is part of the North Myrtle Beach Parks & Recreation Department's Music on Main summer concert series.

    An Horry County firefighter living in Conway was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual battery with a student, according to jail records and other sources. Matthew James Oswald, 31, from Conway, was arrested by Horry County police at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday and charged with sexual battery with a student. As of Thursday morning, he remained incarcerated at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
