HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A 29-year-old man has been charged with abuse - knowing and willful neglect of a vulnerable adult after police found a woman living in deplorable conditions in Murrells Inlet.

Joshua Keener was charged June 8 and served an arrest warrant June 14, according to Horry County documents.

Police responded to the victim's residence after Keener told a loan officer he was “going to ‘unplug' victim from life support and kill her,” the incident report states.

The woman was bruised and bleeding in a residence not suitable for living in, according to a police report.

After further investigation, EMS responders took the woman to a nearby hospital.

Police said they went to the bank where the suspect was located to “obtain a voluntary written statement from a witness.”

Police said the victim's daughter was also contacted.

According to the report, police were notified Keener had claimed “the police kidnapped [the victim]” and said, “Now, I will have to kill every one of them!”
