Body of missing man found in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The body of a missing man has been found in Chesterfield County.

Chesterfield County Coroner confirmed the body of Joseph Arant was found Thursday night in the state forest off Hwy 145.

Arant, 39, was from Jefferson, South Carolina.

Investigators said Arant was last seen around Hwy 145 South and Hartsville Ruby Road/109 South. Deputies said they found his truck around Hwy 145 South and Hartsville Ruby Road/109 South.

Officials say Arant's keys and wallet were found inside the truck.

Investigators began searching at 8 a.m. Tuesday in a heavily-wooded area near Sugarloaf Mountain. The search included deputies, bloodhounds and ATVs.
