Restaurant Scorecard: DHEC scores are heating up this summer

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The weather is heating up, and so are the health inspection scores for a few area restaurants – find out more on this week's Restaurant Scorecard.

Mack's Short Order in Longs got an 88 out of 100 during its routine inspection. Department of Health and Environmental Control inspectors found evidence of pests under shelving and equipment. The exhaust fans were not working in the restrooms.

Hibachi Express in Conway also got an 88 from DHEC inspectors. A steak offered was undercooked, and there was no consumer advisory provided. Also, there were no paper towels provided at front hand sink.

In Myrtle Beach: Fajitas Mexican Restaurant received an 88 as well from DHEC. Wiping cloths that were left on the surface were not stored in a sanitizer bucket, and the sanitizer buckets had build-up on interior.

A couple of places got top grades from DHEC this week: Causeway Bar and Grill in Garden City passed with a 98, and a 98 was also given to Hibbi's Cafe and Market in Myrtle Beach.
