FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Three men were arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution during a sting operation conducted by the Florence County Sheriff's Office at a Florence hotel near the intersection of I-95 and U.S. Highway 52 on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, according to the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

James McClary, age 29, of Kingstree, Jamelle Goodman, age 26, of Florence, and Randy Burgess, age 32, of Sumter, were the men arrested by specially-trained narcotics officers of the FCSO during the sting, according to the FCSO news release.

After following complaints from local area businesses, a FCSO undercover officer posed as a prostitute on an internet website known for solicitation of prostitution and made arrangements to meet at a specified location with the alleged suspects to exchange money for a sex act, according to FCSO deputies. The suspects were immediately taken into custody after arriving at the location and the undercover officer confirmed the arrangement.

In the state of South Carolina, first offense solicitation of prostitution is a misdemeanor which carries a penalty of a fine of up to $250 or 30 days in jail, or both, according to South Carolina Code of Laws Section 16-15-90.
