37-year-old man dies day after motorcycle accident

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A 37-year-old man died following a motorcycle involved accident that occurred on June 6.

According to Horry County Deputy Coroner, Darris Fowler, the victim was identified as James Robert Anderson. Anderson was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center as a trauma victim, and he died from a traumatic brain injury Sunday at 3:50 p.m. Anderson lived in Conway but was originally from Hampton, VA.

According to the SC Highway Patrol, Saturday, the 2010 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south on Cates Bay Road, and struck the back of a 2012 Nissan that was slowing down to turn right. Anderson was the operator of the motorcycle.

The victim was not wearing a helmet.

This crash is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol, according to the coroner's office. No charges are being filed against the driver of the Nissan.
