HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two Myrtle Beach Police officers were taken to a hospital after they hit a car while on a golf cart Thursday night, according to Corporal Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

At about 10:20 p.m., a car was driving through the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Chester Avenue after stopping at the stop sign, Cpl. Collins said. The golf cart driven by two MBPD officers struck the car near the rear passenger wheel.

Cpl. Collins said the golf cart was at fault for operating without any lights. No charges are listed at this time, Cpl. Collins confirmed.

There is no update on the condition of the two officers involved.

Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach Police initially stated the golf cart was hit by the car. Further inquiries were directed to SCHP, the agency that investigated the incident.
