McLeod Safe Kids to offer summer Safe Sitter classes

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - McLeod Safe Kids will be offering Safe Sitter classes this summer for girls and boys ages 11 to 13 at the McLeod Medical Plaza Auditorium.

According to a news release from McLeod Health, the course will be hosted from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the following dates:

·    June 17 (register by June 10)

·    June 24 (register by June 17)

·    July 15 (register by July 8)

·    July 22 (register by July 15)

The Safe Sitter class is a medically-based program, taught by certified instructions, that teaches young adults hands-on training in basic lifesaving procedures, helpful tips including safety precautions, how to relate to children of different ages and the business of babysitting, the release states.   
The fee for the Safe Sitter class is $35 and includes materials, a certificate and lunch. Please make checks payable to McLeod Safe Kids.

The McLeod Medical Plaza is located at 800 East Cheves St. and the Auditorium is in Suite 100

McLeod Safe Kids is asking that parents or guardians accompany their child to class in the morning to provide vital information needed for participation.

McLeod Health is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a national organization founded in 1995 to stop accidental injuries in children 0-14 years, according to McLeod Health's website.
