Two people killed in 2-vehicle wreck at Five Points in Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash at the Five Points intersection in Florence Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.

Keith Von Lutken, Florence County Coroner identified the victims at 29-year-old Krystal Johnson and 28-year-old William Johnson.

The crash involved a sedan and a pickup truck, Chief Heidler said. One of the involved vehicles could be seen overturned at the intersection. Emergency crews were at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Cashua Drive and State Roads 21-29 and 21-13.

Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken confirmed two people died in the crash.

Crash investigators were also at the scene Wednesday morning, trying to piece together what happened, Chief Heidler said.

Major Carlos Raines with City of Florence Police said within the past five years there have been 11 accidents in the intersection of Five Points.

Raines added that of those 11 accidents, the only fatal crash was Wednesday.

At this point, it is not clear when a preliminary crash report will be given.
