One person hospitalized, 2 people arrested after Myrtle Beach stabbing

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF)- Two people are facing charges after a stabbing took place just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

According to Horry County Police Department, 33-year-old, Brian Edmonds Jr. of Myrtle Beach was arrested. 

The police report says before HCPD officers responded to Bay Street in Myrtle Beach regarding the incident, Myrtle Beach Police arrived to the scene, and observed a light blue sedan quickly leaving the area. The MBPD officer advised the suspect had nowhere to go because he turned onto a dead end street.

Officers with MBPD detained the suspect, and went back to the incident location where they met one the victims, according to HCPD's report. The victim told police the suspect was assaulting his family member. When the victim attempted to intervene, he was stabbed by Edmonds. 

Police say the 37-year-old woman who was assaulted by the suspect was intoxicated. First, she told them she didn't know what happened, then she told them her fiance' who she lived with for five years hit her in the face several times. Police didn't observe any marks on the woman's face.

According to police, Edmonds was charged with criminal domestic violence, and he remains at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Additional charges are expected. Officers also arrested Kathy Cutillo, 37, of Myrtle Beach, and charged her with public disorderly conduct. She was transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center as well. 

Myrtle Beach Police Sergeant Hull confirmed one male has been stabbed and the victim has been taken to the hospital for his injuries. There is no word yet on his condition.
