Police arrest man for May 7 bank robbery in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 26-year-old man has been arrested for an armed robbery at the Conway National Bank in Myrtle Beach on May 7.

Tyrone Louis Harts, Jr., was arrested on May 31 and charged in connection with the robbery that occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7 at the bank on 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

According to the arrest warrant, Harts entered the bank, brandishing a handgun, with a hood pulled tightly over his head to conceal his identity. Harts yelled for everyone to get down, then approached the teller, pointed the gun at her, and demanded money. The teller gave Harts over $4,000 from her drawer, and Harts fled on foot from the bank.

Harts was arrested on Sunday, May 31, and charged with bank robbery, kidnapping, use of a weapon in commission of a felony, and felon in possession of a firearm.

As of Monday morning, Harts remained incarcerated at the Myrtle Beach Jail, and no bond had been set.
