20-year-old dies in Florence County crash Saturday

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A 20-year-old is dead after a motor vehicle accident in Florence County Saturday morning.

According to Florence County Coroner, Keith von Lutcken, the victim has been identified as Trevion Tamas Goodman of Florence.  

According to von Lutcken, the victim was temporarily unidentified due to thermal injuries from fire. The vehicle the victim was driving is believed to be a Dodge Dakota pickup truck. The coroner asked for help in locating the victim's family in order to assist with the identification.

An autopsy was performed at the Medical University of SC Saturday, and the accident is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol and the Florence County Coroner's Office, officials say. 

According to State Highway Patrol, Saturday morning around 3 a.m., one person died at mile marker 159 after over correcting along Interstate 95.

Investigators say that the driver was heading north on I-95 drifted to the right, over corrected and drove off of the highway.

The driver struck several trees which caused the vehicle to burst into flames, officials said.

The West Florence Fire Department had the fire out within 15 minutes.
