Nichols man charged for embezzling money from the Department of Veterans Affairs

NICHOLS, SC (WMBF) - A Nichols man was charged Wednesday with embezzling money from the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to the office of United States Attorney Bill Nettles.

Reginald Vereen, 48, was charged in a one-count indictment by a Grand Jury in Florence. Vereen could receive a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine, the release states.

Agents of the Department of Veterans Affairs investigated the case and Assistant United States Attorney A. Bradley Parham, of the Florence office, has been assigned to the case's prosecution.
