Charlotte man dies in hospital after rescue crews pull him from ocean

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 58-year-old swimmer died in the hospital after being pulled from the water Sunday.

According to Horry County Deputy Coroner, Michelle McSpadden, the victim was identified as Young Gwon Go of Charlotte. Go died at a local hospital as a result of drowning, McSpadden said. 

According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, the swimmer died in the hospital after Myrtle Beach Police Department's Beach Patrol, and lifeguards rescued him near 2nd Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard.

Police say CPR was performed, and the victim was been taken to a hospital.
