SC Highway Patrol trooper injured after collision on Harrelson Boulevard

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A SC Highway Patrol Trooper was involved in motor vehicle accident Sunday afternoon.

According to the Horry County Joint Information Center, the 50-year-old trooper of Rock Hill, SC, was traveling west on Harrelson Boulevard when he lost control of his motorcycle, and landed on the shoulder of the road. Corporal Sonny Collins with the SCHP said the trooper did suffer injuries from the accident. Officials say the trooper was transported to Grand Strand Hospital.

According to Horry County Sheriff's Office, spokesperson, Sherri Smith, the accident occurred around 2:00 p.m. Officials say there were injuries reported, but the condition of the injuries are unknown.
